USA Cricket is pleased to unveil its Senior Women’s and U19 National Training Groups following the conclusion of this summer’s national championships.
The National Training Groups (NTGs) were established by the Women’s National Selection Panel in consultation with Head Coach Hilton Moreeng. The NTGs will be engaged in training programs to enhance USA’s squad depth and competitiveness across all formats of the game.
In anticipation of more ODI and T20I fixtures in 2025, the NTGs will enable the coaching staff to implement a rotation policy designed to build depth in the squad while considering factors such as player availability, team combination, skillsets, touring conditions, development opportunities and injury management. One key outcome is to have players who are always match-ready and can step into the touring squad without compromising quality.
Women’s Selection Panel Chair, Amer Afzaluddin, said: “These training groups would serve our mission to build competitive and adaptable teams for major events over the next few years like the U19 World Cup, future ICC tournaments and the Olympics. We have identified talent with long-term potential who will benefit from gaining early experience in competitive environments while working towards our goal of creating well-rounded squads capable of sustained success on the global stage.”
The Under 19 Women’s National Training Group will participate in a camp in November for selection to the Under 19 Women’s National Team to compete in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in January.
