USA Cricket announces the opening of the registration process for players and coaches to participate in the 2024 domestic season.

The Intra-regionals competition, which is the first step on the ladder of the official pathway competition for women and girls, will run April 27 – July 1 with trials to be held locally in areas throughout the country, beginning late March.

The Pathway for Women and Girls recognizes the efforts of home-grown and community support to run female programs and tournaments which drive our participation numbers at the grassroots level. Having more players participating at the grassroots level, creates more talented players for the Intraregional teams and higher-level competition along the pathway, which will benefit USA Cricket’s high-performance programs.

The latest addition to our domestic pathway competition is the Under 15 Girls National Tournament scheduled to take place this summer. This age group competition will ensure we have a pipeline for future under 19 national squads as we prepare to compete in the ICC Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup every two years.

Intra-Regional Team Logos Unveiled

USA Cricket is excited to unveil logos for the 14 Intra-regional teams that will participate across nine states: The District of Columbia, CA, TX, GA, NC, MN, NY, NJ, MA, and WA. Depending on enrollment numbers in other states, USA Cricket will consider adding teams to the 2024 pathway competition.

The unveiling of the logos for the teams participating in the 2024 Intra-regional competition is a step toward improving the profile of the sport among women and girls.

Nadia Gruny, Board Member and Chair of the Women and Girls’ Committee said, “Building a brand identity for each of our Intra-regional teams is one of several steps we are taking to update our domestic program and build the profile of women’s cricket in the USA. We will continue to work towards increasing engagement with women’s cricket as we recognize that building cricket in America requires both on and off-the-field activities that enhance the sport.”

Julie Abbott, Women’s Coordinator, noted, “We are beyond grateful for the endless support we receive from our communities. The women’s cricket committee, leagues and academies, parents and players, volunteers and sponsors have all contributed to the success of our women’s program.” Abbott added, “USA Cricket knows it is the right time to place greater emphasis on all aspects of the women’s game, and we are actively working to provide a more professional environment and increased level of support for our women and girls’ programs and events in 2024. Together we can make this happen!”
