The USA Men’s National Team delivered a flawless performance in their latest round of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 campaign, winning all four of their matches and strengthening their position at the top of the qualification pathway for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
The USA began the series with two dominant victories over Nepal in Dubai, followed by two wins against United Arab Emirates. In the final match of the leg, the USA posted 292/3 and then bowled the UAE out for just 49, handing the hosts a 243-run defeat — the largest margin of victory by runs in USA men’s ODI history.
According to the official standings published by the ICC, the USA now leads the League 2 table, with a healthy net run-rate and a clear margin over their nearest rivals.
USA Cricket Men’s Captain, Monank Patel, said: “From day one in Dubai we knew there were no easy matches, but the way the group responded was outstanding. Saiteja and Milind built a platform with the bat; our bowling attack pounced when the time came, and the energy in the field never dropped. Winning all four matches sends a message: this is Team USA, and we’re here to win, not just play. We’ll carry this confidence into the next phase.”
Throughout the four-match sweep, several players stood out for their consistency and match-winning impact:
Saiteja Mukkamalla was a central figure in the batting lineup throughout the series. In the final match he struck 137* off 149 balls to anchor a record partnership and dominate the UAE bowling attack.

Milind Kumar complemented Mukkamalla with 123* off 125 balls in that same fixture, forming a 264-run unbeaten first-wicket stand – a record for Associate nations in men’s ODIs.

On the bowling front, Rushil Ugarkar produced a five-wicket haul (5/22) against the UAE, becoming the youngest American man to do so in ODIs. His consistency across the series marked him as a major weapon for the USA.

Saurabh Netravalkar also turned up when it mattered — in the final match he returned 3/4 from eight overs as the UAE batting collapsed.

Together, these individual efforts combined with disciplined fielding and strong team unity to produce four comprehensive wins and validate the USA’s status as leading challengers in League 2.
USA Cricket Men’s Head Coach, Pubudu Dassanayake, said: “This series was a test of our character, adaptability and belief. To come out of this leg unbeaten shows not just talent, but mental toughness and execution under pressure. Our batters set the tone early, our bowlers backed them up with ruthless consistency, and the fielding unit raised the bar. We’re building momentum for the biggest part of our journey ahead.”
This 4–0 result strengthens the USA’s position at the top of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 standings and adds crucial qualification points toward the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The team’s consistency across all four matches reflects a growing level of maturity, depth, and clarity in roles, with key players contributing to both batting and bowling departments.
With this phase of League 2 completed, the focus remains firmly on securing a top four finish in the standings and advancing through the World Cup qualification pathway. Maintaining high performance standards, building on the current momentum, and continuing to develop squad depth will be central to the program as preparations continue toward 2027.
