The start of the U15 tournament kicked off with a thrilling first match, where we saw two super overs being bowled before a winner was decided. West side batted first and manged 91/4 in their 20 overs. Top performers for the West included Srinidhi Sagiraju who scored 40 runs with the bat, and Chinmayi Arivuselvan who picked up a superb har trick in the final over to take the game into a super over. Fot the East team Sahasra Gorla scored 29 runs with the bat and Disha Kaveripakam picked up 3/11 in her allotted 4 overs. It was the East team who held their nerve and clinched victory of the final ball of the second over. Player match of the match for game one went to Disha Kaveripakam for her outstanding performance.
The U15 Girls National tournament is seeing an all female umpire line up for the next three days. We are pleased to have Ms Ivy Mahabir from NJ, Ms Malathi Venkat from GA, and Ms Mithila Moudgalya from MA.
