USA Cricket is pleased to announce the approval and adoption of its amended constitution by its members, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s journey towards a brighter future. This comprehensive overhaul signifies a new era for cricket in the USA, characterized by stronger governance, increased transparency, and a clear path forward for sustainable growth and development.
The revised constitution, crafted through extensive consultations and feedback from the key stakeholders, addresses significant areas of improvement crucial for USA Cricket’s long-term success. It establishes a robust governance structure, ensuring greater accountability and representation for all stakeholders, including players, officials, and members. Enhanced organizational transparency measures have been incorporated, fostering trust and confidence among members and partners. Additionally, the amended constitution aligns with best practices in international sports organization governance, paving the way for potential recognition by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) as a full-member body.
Voted ballot results as provided by the Election Buddy were audited and approved by Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP, LLC) an independent law firm. The final vote tally is as follows:
Total Votes: 876
Approved/Yes: 842 (96.12%)
Rejected/No: 22 (2.51%)
Abstain: 12 (1.37%)
Under Section 18.1 of the existing USA Cricket Constitution, This Constitution may be amended, repealed, or altered, in whole or in part, by an affirmative vote of at least sixty-seven (67%) percent of those Individual Members who vote in an election on such proposed amendments.
