Sara Farooq started playing cricket at 16 years old in her native Pakistan before migrating to the USA and being selected to represent the country in 2011 in Bangladesh in an ICC Women’s ODI Qualifier with a win against Zimbabwe in that tournament.

A right-arm medium pacer, Sara is also a handy lower-order batter. She has represented Atlantis Cricket Club – NY in three of that club’s five women’s T20 GWCA championship wins.

Sara considers it an honor to represent the USA and is grateful for every opportunity. She cherishes her Player-of-the-Match award in the 2021 ICC Americas Qualifier against Brazil, a career highlight. Sara Farooq enjoys the strategic side of cricket, the people she meets, and how the game evolves. It’s the competitive nature ingrained in her that motivates her most.
