September 26, 2024

USA is set to host three T20 International matches against Nepal from October 17 to October 20, 2024 in Dallas, Texas, followed by ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI series featuring Scotland and Nepal. Consequently, media representatives are hereby notified that the accreditation process for covering these events is now open.

If you’re a journalist/photographer interested in covering the matches, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the USAC media accreditation guidelines outlined below. These guidelines ensure that all accredited media professionals adhere to the standards set by USA Cricket (USAC). Please note that USAC reserves the right to revoke accreditation at any time without notice. All applications should be received by 7pm CST, Saturday, 12th October 2024.

1. The Accreditation Process
All Accreditation applications should be emailed to media@usacricket.org with subject header: MEDIA ACCREDITATION APPLICATON : T20Is + ICC CWC League 2 ODI Series.

Before submitting your application for approval, please make sure to carefully read and fulfill all the requirements specified.

Please note that if you haven’t applied to attend a match or the entire series, you will not be granted entry to the Press/Media zone on the day of the event. If you have any questions during the application process, feel free to email media@usacricket.org

2. Accreditation Criteria
Media accreditation is restricted to professional journalists and photographers. USAC considers media accreditation to be exclusively for genuine members of the media. Bloggers, social media influencers, and freelance publishers cannot be accredited as media professionals.

News Publications and Print Media:
USAC will only accredit news publications and agencies that meet international sports and news reporting standards, have a circulation, and are available for sale to the public. However, USAC may consider accrediting magazines and news/sports websites on a case-by-case basis if their quality and circulation criteria justify their consideration.

Electronic Media/ Non-Rights Holder:
TV and radio professionals, as well as commercial photographers (those supplying to commercial entities), must submit separate accreditation applications to the USAC Media team for approval. USAC will then decide whether to grant or deny these requests based on its TV/Radio Rights arrangement or commercial policy.

To qualify for media accreditation, the applicant must be part of a professionally run news/sports website dedicated to news and sports coverage. Websites that run on free platforms for blogging or personal hobbies cannot be considered professional sports/news or cricket websites.

Applicants must submit traffic figures, along with a geographical breakdown of users, and provide satisfactory article links showcasing coverage of cricket, especially USA Cricket, in recent months. If the website primarily covers other sports and expresses an intention to provide prominent coverage to cricket, USAC may also consider it for media accreditation.

The website should have a clear “Contacts” section containing full contact details, including a postal address, telephone number, and email address. All contributing journalists and photographers must be named either on published articles or photographs or elsewhere in the media. The website should have a clearly written Privacy Policy, a Right to Reply/Complaints Policy, and comply with all laws, regulations, guidelines, and good practices relating to website operations.

Please note that if any media accreditation holder is found producing videos without prior approval from USAC, their accreditation may be revoked without prior notice. USAC accredits applicants based on the above criteria to ensure comprehensive online coverage.

3. Accreditation Pick-Up:
Once your application is approved, you can collect your accreditation pass from the accreditation/Information center located at the match venue a day prior or on the day of the match you plan to attend. The media accreditation team will inform each applicant in advance about the venue and timings for accreditation pass collection. Remember, only the applicant can collect the media accreditation pass; it cannot be collected by a colleague, friend, or relative.

4. Additional Information:

  • Please send your application via email mentioning your interest to cover the series/or certain matches along with a passport size photograph, a copy of press ID card, a valid Govt issued ID and a letter from your Sports Editor/News Editor outlining your organizations interest in covering the matches.
  • Incomplete application will not be processed and would result in a denial of accreditation.
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee accreditation, if it doesn’t meet the above criteria.
  • USAC will provide seating plans in the media box or where appropriate.
  • The Accreditation pass will also grant you the permission to cover training sessions at the match venue for participating teams.

We hope this guide provides you with a clear understanding of the media accreditation process. We look forward to welcoming dedicated media professionals to our events and request comprehensive coverage of USA Cricket.
