The Nominating & Governance Committee appointed in September to oversee the upcoming USA Cricket Board elections met on Wednesday January 6, to consider and approve a provisional timeline for the election.  It noted that the USA Cricket membership portal had gone live with a phased approach to membership enrollment over the next few weeks, and it supported the Board’s approach to ensure that membership was as wide, welcoming and inclusive as possible and it encouraged all members of the cricket community to become members in the appropriate manner.

Based on the timeline which is outlined in the membership brochure (which can be found here), and the result of the recent membership resolution, the NGC has provisionally determined that the cut-off date for membership to be eligible to vote in the upcoming Board election would be February 15th, 2021 and that it would seek to implement the following timeline:

The timeline for the Board of Directors Election

Chair of the Nominating & Governance Committee, Jagan Jagannathan,
explained, “We are conscious of the community interest in the USA Cricket Board elections and want to ensure that the process is carried out in a fair and responsible fashion and overseen in an independent manner.  To that end, we have designed a provisional timeline, which responds to the desire on all sides to have these elections concluded as soon as possible.  Whilst the start of the process has been delayed by a few weeks, we acknowledge the importance of a fully functioning membership portal, both for the cricket community and to support the smooth and efficient management of the upcoming election process.”

“As in previous years, the NGC will be providing regular updates to the community throughout the election process, and we will review and reiterate the timetable and cut-off date as the membership launch reaches its final phases.”
