● USA Cricket Men’s Under 19 Squad announced to compete at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 in South Africa.
● The team will represent Team USA at the U19 World Cup for the first time since 2010.

USA Cricket today is pleased to announce the 15-player squad which will represent the USA at the ICC Under 19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 in South Africa.

This will be the first time the USA will be playing in the U19 Men’s World Cup since 2010 and goes some way to remedying some of the disappointment of previous campaigns.

There have been a few changes to the squad which was successful at the regional qualifiers in Toronto earlier this year, with selectors having had an opportunity to see players performing since then at the National Championships, camps, and the tour of Trinidad last month to make final tweaks to the squad for conditions in South Africa.

“Selecting the squad for the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup was a challenging yet rewarding process. We have carefully considered the performances and potential of each player, and we believe this squad represents the best combination for success in South Africa. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the US Cricket Board for their assistance throughout this endeavor that commenced in December 2022” added Amer Afzaluddin, Chair of the U19 Selection Committee.

The team will depart for South Africa on January 6th, 2024, and is scheduled to play 2 unofficial warm-up/practice games before its first official warm-up game in Pretoria on January 13th against Namibia.

Asif Mujtaba is set to continue his role as Interim Head Coach, with Sajith Fernando as Team Consultant, Anand Patel as Manager, Parmeet Singh as Physio, Dhruv Barot as Analyst, and Ghaleelullah Achmat as trainer making up the support staff.

Dr. Noor Murad, CEO of USA Cricket stated “This announcement marks a significant moment for USA Cricket, returning to the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup after more than a decade. It reflects our commitment to nurturing young talent and competing at the highest level. We wish the team every success as they proudly represent the USA on the global cricket stage.”
