USA Cricket is pleased to announce the squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier, set to take place in Argentina from March 7-18. This tournament will see USA, Canada, Brazil, and hosts, Argentina, compete for qualification to the ICC T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in early 2026.
Following the U19 team’s spirited performance in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, Anika Kolan will carry forward her leadership role as Captain of the senior T20 team. Aditi Chudasama, the current captain of the senior women’s ODI team, will continue as vice-captain in the T20 format.
“We are excited to have this dynamic duo providing strong leadership to guide the team forward, and we are optimistic about their ability to inspire success in the upcoming competitions. With their combined talent and determination, we look forward to achieving great things together,” said Amer Afzaluddin, USA Cricket Women’s Selection Panel Chief Selector.
Afzaluddin further added, “We have put together a strong squad that we believe strikes the right balance between experience and emerging talent to compete at the highest level. This tournament represents a significant step in our journey, and we are confident in our team’s capacity to achieve success.”
UK-based Ella Claridge and Tara Norris will join the squad in South America while Bhakti Shastri earns her maiden national team call-up after a successful 2024 National Championship. Both Chetnaa Prasad and Maahi Madhavan’s impressive U19 World Cup campaigns in Malaysia last month will see them return to the national senior team.
Head Coach, Hilton Moreeng, also expressed confidence in the squad, stating, “Our preparations have been focused, and the players are eager to showcase their skills on this important stage. We look forward to representing USA Cricket with pride and determination.”
