USA Cricket, the national governing body of cricket in the United States, is pleased to announce that, as part of its ongoing governance reforms, members will soon have the opportunity to vote on a series of important constitutional amendments.
This important step reflects the organization’s commitment to a transparent and inclusive governance model—one that aligns with best practices and meets the evolving needs of the sport in the United States.
Eligible USA Cricket members will receive information outlining the proposed changes, which are aimed at strengthening organizational transparency, enhancing governance, and bringing USA Cricket into full compliance with requirements set forth by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC).
A comprehensive document detailing each proposed amendment and the rationale behind it is available for member review here. Members are encouraged to carefully read the analysis to understand the significance of the changes being presented.
Key dates include:
· May 27, 2025: USA Cricket will host a virtual town hall to present the amendments and answer questions from members. (Details to be shared via USA Cricket’s social media).
· May 28 – June 3, 2025: Voting window opens for eligible members to ratify or reject the proposed amendments.
Following the conclusion of the Peer Review process on March 31, 2025, the list of eligible voters has been finalized and is accessible here.
In further support of its governance modernization efforts, USA Cricket is proud to announce the addition of two new members to its Nominations and Governance Committee (NGC). The updated composition of the NGC is:
- Nisarg Patel (Chair)
- Katie Lever, appointed as the ICC Representative
- Lisa Noller, appointed as the Independent Representative
Both appointees bring extensive experience in legal and compliance frameworks, and their involvement is part of USA Cricket’s continued commitment to building a robust governance structure. USA Cricket is honored to welcome both Katie and Lisa to the organization at this pivotal moment.
“These changes represent more than procedural updates—they are a reflection of USA Cricket’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and progress,” said Venu Pisike, Chairman of USA Cricket. “We are laying the groundwork for a stronger and more inclusive future, one where athletes, members, and stakeholders can have confidence in the integrity and direction of the organization. I encourage all eligible members to engage in this important process as we take this next step together.”
Pending the outcome of the constitutional revision process, USA Cricket will seek to begin the election process for the Athlete Directors to the USA Cricket Board, as well as the additional members of the inaugural USA Cricket Athlete’s Advisory Council, in June.
These elections represent an important opportunity to elevate athlete voices within USA Cricket’s decision-making structures, further embedding the principles of representation and accountability.
USA Cricket looks forward to the participation of its members in this critical process to ensure a stronger, more accountable future for the sport. The developments underway are a vital part of building a sustainable governance foundation that will support the long-term growth of cricket across the United States.
