2. Diamond Cricket

Divide participants into teams of four. Place four sets of stumps in a diamond formation, appropriately spaced. One team of four bats while the remaining players wicketkeep, bowl, and field. The bowler stands in the center of the diamond and bowls to the batter at home plate. The other batters are placed at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base. When the ball is hit, all four batters must run counter-clockwise to the next base to score a run. Batters can be ‘out’ by being bowled, caught or run out at any set of stumps. Each team bats for a pre-determined number of deliveries, or a certain number of outs.

3. Quick Cricket

Participants are split into two teams. One team bats while the other fields. Bat for a set time, or a pre-determined number of ‘outs’ per team. Ball is bowled underarm by the instructor to the batter who hits the ball into the field of play and then runs around one of the markers/stumps adjacent to the batting stumps. Fielders must return the ball to the bowler as fast as possible, who can then bowl again whether the batter is ready or not. Batters can be out caught or bowled.

4. Pairs Cricket

Organize participants into pairs. Maximum of 8-10 per group. Each pair bats for 2 overs (12 deliveries). Each pair bowls and wicketkeeps for 12 deliveries (1 over each). Those not batting or bowling are fielding. If out, batters lose three runs off their total. Highest scoring pair wins.

5. Rapid Fire

Participants are split into two teams. One team bats while the other fields. The instructor rolls or underarms a series of balls at the batter, who attempts to hit the ball out in the field. Fielders must stay ‘frozen’ behind the first rope until all balls have been struck by the batter. Batters get a ‘four’ if they hit any of the balls past the second rope. Once they hit all of the balls they then run between the stumps to score more runs. The fielders must collect all balls and return them to the bucket or to the feet of the instructor, shout ‘Howzat’, and then the batter must stop running. Once all batters in a team have had a bat, the total number of runs is tallied and the second team bats.

6. Rookie 6's

2 teams of 6 players. Each team bats for a total of 6 overs. Batters bat in pairs for 2 overs.
They can be bowled out, caught out, run out, or stumped. When dismissed, batters lose 3 runs from their team total, but continue to bat for the full two overs. Every player in the fielding team bowls 1 over. Bowlers can bowl over or underarm. Fielders rotate positions after each over, meaning they get 1 over at each position including bowler and wicketkeeper.
