USA Cricket and Cricket West Indies (CWI) are thrilled to announce the U19 Women’s T20 Series to be hosted in Trinidad and Tobago from July 14th to 28th, 2024. All matches will be held at the University of West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine Campus Ground.

This tour is the second time the women’s youth regional teams are squaring off since USA hosted CWI in Florida, in 2022, and marks the start of preparations for the 2025 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. USA once again earned automatic qualification to this event.

USA will be led by Anika Kolan who was appointed recently as the senior team’s vice captain on the recent tour to UAE for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier. Power-hitting Ritu Singh will serve as her deputy.

National selectors have traveled across the country during this year’s Intraregional competition to assess the under 19 talent while also considering the recent international performances of players, to select a squad for this upcoming tour.

Chair of the Women’s National Selection Panel, Amer Afzaluddin, said: “We are delighted with the exceptional talent that has emerged nationwide as a result of the intra-regional games organized by USA Cricket, the regions, volunteer team coordinators, parents, coaches, and most importantly, the women cricketers who participated in large numbers. Furthermore, we already have a good number of U19 cricketers in our senior squad that have toured the UAE, and it was exhilarating to witness talented U19-eligible cricketers put in impressive performances representing the senior squad. Having a significant number of senior players who are also under-19 players provides us with a strong foundation to build upon in this age group.”

The bilateral international series will also serve as a platform to continue to inspire young female athletes to pursue their dreams of playing cricket.

Cricket West Indies High Performance Manager, Graeme West said: “The upcoming series is crucial for our team’s preparation for the ICC T20 U19 World Cup. Coming right after the Regional Under 19 Tournament, our selected players will be primed and ready to build on their performances from the past two weeks in Trinidad. Top priorities for the Team Management include refining our game plan and defining player roles. Additional competitive opportunities are lined up for August and September to further hone our skills. We expect a strong showing from the USA side, anticipating another closely contested series following our last encounter in 2022.”
